WHO'S THE GENIUS BEHIND THE GAME?

It all started with a bright idea from a 9 year old
It was April 2014. The Mixides family were at great Ormond Street Hospital taking their younger son Theron for his hearing test. Parking was a bit tricky, so mum took Theron in whilst Leo and dad waited in the car outside to find a parking space. Leo was in the back and started to talk about an idea for a game with his dad.
‘Dad I have thought of a game!! It’s a game where children will learn about healthy and unhealthy foods. It’s called Flick the bad food; there is a little character at the bottom of the screen, you have to stop him eating the unhealthy foods. When the character eats healthy foods you get points, It’s a high score game with a leaderboard!’. ‘Leo, that’s a simple game and possibly the sort of game that will become very popular!’ ‘Ok dad, will you make it for me?’.
Soon after the game development began… Leo and his dad spent a lot of time going through different ideas of how the game should be played and what the character should look like. There was a lot of brainstorming and plenty of sketching to decide on the final look of the character, and that’s how Lug came to life. Leo began to save his pocket money as he wanted to contribute to the cost of developing the game and after a number of months Food Swipe was born.
Leo’s dream is for the game to be played all around the world and for children to understand the importance between healthy and unhealthy food. Now don’t get us wrong we are not saying that you can’t have a treat every now and then…. because believe it or not, Leo has a very sweet tooth!!!
